Queens of Song is a celebration of golden voices and songs of the queens of voice from the past, presented by renowned artists Meg Kiddle and Mel Buchholz. From Mamma Cass and Karen Carpenter to Peter Allen and Freddie Mercury; and including Australia’s own sweethearts Olivia Newton John and Judith Durham. Mel (piano) and Meg (voice) combine their considerable talents to take you on a journey through time, back to when life was fun, happy and simpler, and music had the power to transport you to a memory or place in the past.
With classic songs such as: Dream a Little Dream, Don’t Cry Out Loud, Rainy Days and Mondays and I Honestly Love You, audiences will be charmed and enamoured with the sparkling vocals of Meg Kiddle (Mamma Mia, Phantom of the Opera, Menopause the Musical) and be amazed at the virtuosic talents of Melissa Buchholz (Boy from Oz, We Will Rock You, Perfectly Imperfect, Queen of the Keys) at the piano. They will immerse you in a story recalling the voices of so many singers who had the power to touch our hearts.
About Queens of Song
Meg and Mel’s story began in high school in South Grafton, NSW and their friendship was rekindled in 2019 after both working independently to build successful careers as professional musicians.
